Folder Lock provides you with several strong methods to protect your files and folders. The program allows you to hide them, encrypt them, and to create online backups of them. Moreover, you can also protect your portable media (such as pen drives and CD/DVD discs) and create virtual wallets to keep your credit card, bank account, and personal information safe.

The program offers you a neat and intuitive user interface where all the elements are self-descriptive. The first time you run the program, it will ask you to define your master password, which is the only one that will grant you access to your protected data from now on. So, it’s very advisable that you keep it in a safe place. Folder Lock offers you a separate section for each one of the functions offered through a tabbed panel. The first one is "Lock Files", and its main function is to allow you to hide your files/folders. You can add new files/folders to the protection list either by using the program's "Add" function or by dragging your files from Windows Explorer.

The second section of the program is "Encrypt Files", and its function is to allow you to create "lockers", which are encrypted containers you can add files to or extract files from. These lockers are encrypted using 256-bit AES technology, so that your files and folders are strongly protected. You need to set up a password for each locker, and when you open one, the program will automatically assign a drive letter to it (e.g., "Z:"), so you can use it as if it were a virtual disc. more
